Dr. Carolyn Stull, PhD is a Cooperative Extension Specialist in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis. Her Animal Welfare Program focuses on the well-being of agricultural animals, primarily cattle and horses. This program disseminates information to the agricultural community, representatives of public policy, non-profit organizations, and consumer groups. Her research projects have been focused on road transportation stress in horses, nutritional rehabilitation programs for starved animals, glycemic index of common equine feeds, impacts of extreme weather events, characterization of unwanted horses relinquished to non-profit shelter facilities throughout the US, and developing minimum standards of care for horses and cattle in California. She is currently working with the Bureau of Land Management on developing a animal welfare program for the Wild Horse and Burro Program.
